Forrest is currently in the burn unit at the University of Florida’s Shands Hospital where he as been since November 17th.
LAKELAND, FL (December 30, 2013) – Forrest Cunningham was recently burned due to an auto accident and he needs your help. Almost 40% of his body was burned with some areas on the right side of his body affected with the most severe, 4th degree burns.
Participate in The Forrest 5k – Run, Walk, and Bike & Skate event on January 11th at Lake Hollingsworth. All proceeds will go toward Forrest’s medical bills. Sign up through www.theforrest5k.com<http://www.theforrest5k.com>. This is a fun run event and participants can run, walk, skate or bike. Race registration will take place at the First Presbyterian Church (75 Lake Hollingsworth Drive). Cost for registration is $20 per person and race t-shirts are $10. The fun run will start at 8 a.m. with on-site registration starting at 6:30 a.m.
Forrest is currently in the burn unit at the University of Florida’s Shands Hospital where he as been since November 17th. It will be months before Forrest is released from the hospital and there will be a long road of recovery that could include years of physical therapy.
Forrest and his family are members of the Lakeland community. He played football for Lakeland High School as a running back, he wrestled at Lakeland High School, he was senior class president and he was an avid skateboarder. Forrest is also a former long term North Lakeland Volunteer Football League player and coach at Duff Road.
