Congressional candidate Alex Sink announced support today from REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC), the political arm of the National Association of REALTORS®, following recommendations from the Pinellas REALTORS® Organization and Florida REALTORS® RPAC Trustees. In a statement, Pinellas REALTORS® Organization chair Brandi Gabbard cited Alex Sink’s hard work on housing issues during her business career and her tenure as Florida Chief Financial Officer as the primary reasons for their support.
“Alex Sink has been a strong leader for REALTORS® and homeowners, including leading the charge to ensure that affordable, long-term financing is available to prospective homebuyers. She has a proven record of working with Republicans and Democrats to get results for Florida families,” said Gabbard.
“In Congress, I have every confidence Alex Sink will continue to stand up for homeowners and REALTORS® and ensure our voices are heard,” continued Gabbard. “She will protect the mortgage interest deduction and equally important will work to return fairness to the flood insurance market.”
“I am proud and grateful to have the support of such large and influential state and national organizations,” said Alex Sink. “The Pinellas, Florida, and National Associations of REALTORS represent one of the hardest-hit industries during this economic downturn and is now a leader in Pinellas’ economic recovery. I look forward to working with REALTORS to not only accelerate our housing market recovery, but to tackle the challenges in our flood insurance system and stop the rate spike that is hurting Pinellas homeowners. A stronger housing market contributes to broader economic growth.”
The National Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1908 and is America’s largest trade association with approximately 1.1 million members including NAR’s five commercial real estate institutes and its societies and councils.
