|Palmetto High School Student Joshua Escobedo Chosen as Laptop Recipient
SARASOTA, FL – The Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) has, once again, provided the Able Trust with 35 refurbished Dell laptops to distribute to High School High Tech students who can demonstrate how a laptop will assist them in meeting their educational and career goals.
Joshua Escobedo–a student from Palmetto High School and enrolled in the High School High Tech program–was nominated for this opportunity. He completed the nomination form and wrote an essay on how he would use the laptop to complete schooling, look for jobs, and retain employment. Joshua was selected to receive a laptop which will be presented to him by the Able Trust on December 17, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the media center at Palmetto High School.
The Community Haven High School High Tech Program, 4405 Desoto Road, Sarasota,offers an enriched high school to career academic experience exploring and preparing for careers in science, technology, engineering and arts-related disciplines. The highly individualized program prepares students with disabilities, grades 9-12, for post-secondary education and high tech careers.
