Don’t let a little unseasonable weather dampen holiday spirits. Kick off another perfect weekend with a sunny lunch in the park and “Joe Ho Ho!”
On Friday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., a special holiday edition of the Eat at Joe’s lunchtime concert series returns to Joe Chillura Courthouse Square in downtown Tampa with food trucks, Santa Claus, a toy drive and festive music under the gazebo.
A trio of bands from the Rampello Downtown Partnership School will perform along with precious pre-K kids from West Tampa Head Start.
Attendees to “Joe Ho Ho!” are asked to support the annual effort by the U.S. Marines’ Toys For Tots by bringing new, unwrapped toys for needy children. Admission to Eat at Joe’s is always free.
Earlier this year, Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higginbotham created the Eat at Joe’s lunchtime concert series to increase patronage in and around the scenic spot downtown known as Joe Chillura Courthouse Square. Events are now held monthly, and information is readily available online at www.HillsboroughCounty.org/EatatJoes.
Eat at Joe’s is a partnership among the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department; the Arts Council of Hillsborough County; the City of Tampa; and the Tampa Downtown Partnership.
