And their marching performance at the National Cherry Blossom Parade!
(ST. PETERSBURG, December 2013) – St. Petersburg’s own Second Time Arounders Marching Band to start their season off with a music run-through January 7, 2014.
Come 6:45pm, January 7 in the band room at Northeast High School, the baton will drop and the Rounders season will officially begin! The Rounders will be running through all their music for the first time, getting familiar with it and seeing what sections need some practice – all in anticipation of the 2014 season which includes their trip to the National Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington DC!
The Band was invited to not only march in the parade, but to perform a 3 minute “show” for the TV cameras…something never done prior by a marching band during this parade.
The performance will be filled with patriotism and Americana – powerful music, an abundance of red, white, and blue, plus stunning visual effects that will leave the crowd proud to be an American and smiling from ear to ear!
The run-through is the perfect opportunity to check out the Band, people, and music – and decide to join! First official rehearsal is February 18 and a must in order to participate in the National Cherry Blossom Parade. If you’ve ever marched in a high school, college, or military marching band – please check it out!
The Rounders perform locally, nationally, and internationally…more recent performances include the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2008, the Calgary Stampede in Calgary Canada in 2011, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Savannah, Georgia in 2012, and the Conch Republic Parade in Key West just this past April 2013.
