|Bradenton, Florida,– On Sunday, December 8, 2013, the Women’s Resource Center of Manatee, a non-profit organization providing support and assistance to women, is sponsoring the Gospel Blues Brunch, as part of the Downtown Bradenton Blues Fest weekend.
The Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe will perform at noon on Old Main Street between Manatee Avenue West and Fourth Street. While listening to the free concert, food from assorted local restaurants and food trucks will be available for purchase.
The Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, founded in 1999, is the only professional black theater company on Florida’s west coast. National and international performances have garnered the Troupe rave reviews, awards and recognition. Many of their performers have left the Troupe for national and international careers.
There will also be performances from Turner Chapel AME Church, Mt. Pilgrim Primitive Baptist Church, Robert’s Elements of Praise from St. Pail Missionary Baptist Church.

For twenty-two years, the Women’s Resource Center has provided programs and services to help women of all ages who are struggling through difficult transitions of life. These relevant and life-changing programs provide coping skills and emotional support through counseling sessions with mental health counselors, employment coaching, computer classes, as well as workshops on divorce, finances and wellness.
Each and every month, more than 250 new women arrive for the first time at the door of the Women’s Resource Center of Manatee. They have reached one of life’s turning points. Unsure or unable to determine a direction, they come to the WRC seeking a fresh start. Whether coping with difficult family relationships, adjusting to a career change, concerned about financial security, grieving the loss of a loved one, or simply seeking opportunities for personal growth – the Women’s Resource Center of Manatee is here to help them on their personal journey.
Donations to the Women’s Resource Center help to provide these programs at little or no costs to those in need.
