APOLLO BEACH, Fla. – Waterset, a master-planned community in Apollo Beach, has become a notable success story for Tampa Bay’s housing market since it opened to the public in October 2012. In its first year, the community has sold 73 percent of its phase one inventory, with 172 project-to-date sales and nearly 100 residents already calling Waterset home.
Waterset is owned in a joint venture partnership between North America Sekisui House, LLC (NASH) the U.S. business unit and full subsidiary of Sekisui House, Ltd, Japan’s largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and Newland Real Estate Group, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of the community. It is one of 30 assets the NASH-Newland partnership owns or manages together in 11 states across the U.S.
“We strategically planned this community to resonate with consumers looking for a place they could live, work and play,” said Alex McLeod, VP of operations for Newland Communities. “Waterset has filled that niche for Apollo Beach and we expect the demand to continue.”
Following the rapid sales of phase one, Waterset phase two development has already begun, with new models expected to open in December 2013. This next phase will also feature four new model home offerings – one each from Ashton Woods Homes, David Weekley Homes, Homes by WestBay and Ryland Homes – upping the total model options in Waterset to 14. Home prices start in the low $200,000s. Additionally, it will bring new amenities and an expansion to Waterset’s trail system that will enhance community connectivity.
Potential homebuyers are invited to “Experience Waterset” for a day by registering at the Landing Club & Café, the community’s hub for resident activity. The day pass includes access to the community pool, fitness center, free bike rentals to explore the trails and a gift card to the café.
Recently, Waterset hosted a birthday bash to celebrate its one-year anniversary, which drew more than 900 attendees and featured food trucks, live music, model home tours and plenty of prizes.
