|Blood and Platelet DonationsVital During the Busy Holiday Season.
Sarasota, FL – The need for blood products never takes a holiday, so Suncoast Communities Blood Bank (SCBB) is partnering with businesses during its Season of Giving, to encourage blood and platelet donations through the month of December. Every Monday, beginning December 9, SCBB will award one donor, a $200 gift card from a select business.
The first $200 gift card is from Midas, 3565 Clark Rd. Sarasota. In addition, the Clark Road Midas will host a blood drive on December 6 from 1-5 p.m. and December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone donating at the Clark Road location will receive a voucher for a free conventional oil change. Donors who bring a non-perishable food item for All Faiths Food Bank, will also receive a free lunch, complements of Midas.
Other $200 gift cards include Ellenton Premium Outlets, to be awarded on December 16; Walmart, to be awarded on December 23; and a RaceTrac gas card, to be awarded on December 30. All donors, giving at any SCBB donor center or bloodmobile, are eligible to win.
During the busy holidays, the demand for blood products remains constant, but donations drop off as donors prepare for the festivities of the season. Suncoast Communities Blood Bank(SCBB) is asking blood and platelet donors to help keep the inventory of blood products ready and available for local patients in need. SCBB must collect 150 units of blood every day, 365 days a year to meet the needs of patients in the community battling cancer, newborns in crisis, surgical patients, and those suffering traumatic injuries.
