Lakewood Ranch, Fla. – Neal Communities recently held its annual “My Favorite Home Art Contest” at B.D. Gullett Elementary School in Lakewood Ranch, FL. The top 10 student finalists in each grade level attended the event along with their families, school officials, Neal team members, and guest judges from around the community.
This is Neal’s 15th year holding the My Favorite Home Art Contest, featuring a different community school each year. “This is the 15th time we have held this event and it is certainly a highlight event for Neal every year,” said Pat Neal, president and CEO of the Lakewood Ranch-based, home building company. “Charlene and I are so appreciative of the children’s creativity displayed in this contest and the dedication of their teachers and parents. We look forward to sharing that creativity with our friends and families on this year’s holiday card,” said Neal.
At Gullett, all students in grades K-5 participated in the contest. Students submitted pictures of homes through their art classes. Those submissions were narrowed down to the top 60 entries — 10 from each grade level. Six grade level winners were chosen by a celebrity judging panel including Manatee County commissioners Robin DiSabatino and Vanessa Baugh, TV personality Summer Smith, and Neal team members from marketing, sales, purchasing, and accounting. The Neal team will select one overall winner and that student’s artwork will adorn the cover of the Neal Communities holiday card for 2013.
B.D. Gullett Elementary was selected as 2013’s school because it is the districted school of Neal’s upcoming new community, Eagle Trace, set to open at the beginning of December. Eagle Trace is located off of SR64 in Manatee County, just north of Lakewood Ranch.
Below are the grade level winners listed in order:
· Kindergarten – Julianna Misser
· 1st Grade – Daryn Davilla
· 2nd Grade – Noe Flores
· 3rd Grade – Ivan Urieta
· 4th Grade – Nathaniel Garcia
· 5th Grade – Ashley Weaver
