IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WINN-DIXIE, METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES, FEEDING AMERICA TAMPA BAY, TECO ENERGY, JUNIOR LEAGUE OF TAMPA, UNIVERSITY AREA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, AND OTHERS
On Tuesday, November 19th200 Tampa Bay families will experience the Power of Giving as they receive a hot meal and boxes of nonperishable food items.
The Ryan Nece Foundation has teamed up with many partners, including Winn-Dixie, Metropolitan Ministries, Feeding America Tampa Bay, TECO Energy, Junior League of Tampa, and the University Area Community Development Corporation to feed approximately 800-1,000 individuals. Metropolitan Ministries will lead the preparation and transportation of the food to the UACDC for serving. The families will be seated and served restaurant-style so they may enjoy a hot Thanksgiving meal together, while listening to a performance by local band Phase 5. Following their meal, families will have the opportunity to take a family photo, which they will receive printed that evening, courtesy of Shutterbooth. The Feeding America Tampa Bay mobile pantry will provide each family with a box of nonperishable food items to take home thanks to support from TECO Energy.
Ryan Nece, along with other professional athletes, will be on hand to greet families, sign autographs, and take pictures. Over 160 volunteers, led by the high school students who are part of the foundation’s Student Service Program, will be on hand to serve food and distribute the boxes.
The Power of Giving Thanksgiving Celebration is part of the Ryan Nece Foundation’s annual scope of programming. The mission of the Ryan Nece Foundation is to be a beacon to teens by empowering them to impact giving in their communities.
