PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (November 18, 2013) – The Board of County Commissioners for Pasco County proclaimed the month of November National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, and commended the staff from Gulfside Regional Hospice for their service to the residents in Pasco County at their meeting on Nov. 5 in Dade City.
Last year, Gulfside Regional Hospice cared for 2,042 patients facing a life-limiting illness in Pasco County. Nationally, more than 1.5 million Americans living with life-limiting illness, and their families, received care from the nation’s hospice programs in communities throughout the United States. Gulfside’s more than 550 volunteers contributed more than 80,000 hours of service during the same period.
“The staff and volunteers at Gulfside Regional Hospice are honored to serve Pasco County residents,” said Linda Ward, Gulfside’s president and CEO. “We are proud to help many residents and their families find peace and comfort through quality care during their journey at the end-of-life.”
Gulfside also received proclamations for National Hospice Month in November from the City Councils from New Port Richey, Dade City and Zephyrhills.
