More than 75 boxes of books were collected and $800 raised during the Manatee Reads! Fall Annual Book Sale on Saturday, Nov. 2 at First Bank’s Village Green branch located at 7051 Manatee Ave. W.
“We can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity. The gift of literacy can change so many lives in a positive way,” said Anne Lee, First Bank’s Retail Banking President for Florida.
Kim Kollig-Ackley, Executive Director for Manatee Reads said the money raised from the event will help cover the costs of books needed to provide services.
First Bank employees were on hand to assist with the sale along with numerous Manatee Reads’ volunteers.
Thousands of new, slightly used and used books were collected during the drive, which
kicked off in late summer. First Bank’s Bradenton offices as well as the Longboat Key and Palmetto locations served as book drop off sites.
