|Pasco County, Florida — The SMARTstart co-working space was buzzing with business owners and community leaders on October 31st for a roundtable discussion on the various elements that Pasco County’s first incubator can provide to startup businesses.
“We had a terrific turnout for our first SMARTstart meeting,” said Krista Covey, Program Director for SMARTstart Dade City Incubator. “We have several upcoming events planned and co-working space is now available. If someone is trying to start a business or working out of their garage, SMARTstart can help them take their business to the next level.”
The SMARTstart Dade City Incubator will soon be holding monthly Small Business Roundtables to help small business owners talk about their opportunities and challenges in a closed-door, safe environment for discussion and solutions with peers. Roundtables are just one of the benefits available to small businesses and startups through the SMARTstart program.
“The roundtables will be beneficial to any small business owner wanting to vet ideas with other entrepreneurs and talk about challenges they might be facing,” said John Moors, Executive Director of the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled to be involved with SMARTstart and helping small businesses flourish here in Dade City.”
Other services and programs offered through SMARTstart include co-working space, office space, mentoring, one-on-one counseling for entrepreneurs, connections to resources, networking and business plan assistance. Working in conjunction with the Pasco Enterprise Network and the Pasco “Micro-Loan” program, startups and growing businesses can take advantage of the expertise of the Pasco Economic Development Council, Saint Leo University, the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Development Center. Other supporting partners of the new incubator include the Dade City Business Center, Florida High Tech Corridor and USF Connect.
SMARTstart is located in the Dade City Business Center (15000 Citrus Country Drive, Suite 103, Dade City, Florida 33523). Companies interested in the SMARTstart Dade City Incubator should contact Krista Covey at 352-437-4861 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
