TAMPA, FLA. – Joe Fontana, president of Ryland Homes’ Tampa Division, was named 2013 Builder of the Year by the Tampa Bay Builders Association, one of the largest building-trades associations in Florida.
The induction ceremony took place recently in Tampa and also marked the swearing in of the following officers for 2014: Willy Nunn of Homes by WestBay, president; Jason Starling of Suarez Housing, president elect; Laurie Stewart-Woodroffe, Heritage Drywall, associate vice president; Bob Gibbons, Ryland Homes, vice president/treasurer; Keith Appenzeller, King Engineering, vice president/secretary.
The association also presented its Associate Member of the Year Award to Heritage Drywall’s Stewart-Woodroffe, and the Remodeler Member of the Year to Bob Nixon, Nixon Construction.
And, finally, the 2013 President’s Cup went to Carpenter Contractors of America.
Headquartered in Brandon, Fla., the TBBA is a professional organization serving Tampa Bay-area construction-related businesses in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties. These include builders, developers, suppliers, subcontractors, lending institutions, architectural and engineering firms, as well as other related businesses.
