TAMPA, Fla.— Officials from the Tampa Port Authority and terminal operator, Ports America and many of the region’s major exporters and importers celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Zim Integrated Shipping Services’ calls to the Port of Tampa with its global container operations, October 30, at the Tampa Museum of Art.
The reception, was highlighted with brief presentations by Paul Anderson, port president and CEO; Tom Perdue, president of Ports America Stevedoring; and Lea Bogatch-Genossar, president of Zim Integrated Shipping Services. She spoke of the long-term successful partnership with the Port of Tampa and explained how Zim’s personal touch has become a trademark of the global container line.
ZIM first launched global service from the Port of Tampa ten years ago, in October 2003 and since then has continued to develop a strong presence in the region. Containers with the distinctive Zim logo with seven stars are an everyday sight all over Tampa Bay and Central Florida.
“Our partnership with Zim, now ten years strong, goes to the heart of our business of growth and diversification at the Port of Tampa,” Paul Anderson, port president and CEO, said. “Together with our partners Zim and Ports America, we will continue to build strong global container connections and services that will more than meet the needs of our region’s exporters and importers for decades to come,” he said.
“Tampa has been an important part of our network since its inception ten years ago. The entire Tampa Bay region is a large and expanding distribution center gateway. We look forward to connecting Tampa Bay and all of Central and western Florida to the entire world for years to come,” said Lea Bogatch-Genossar, president of Zim Integrated Shipping Services.
