What: Join the Ekhos, a forward thinking organization of professional women between the ages of 25 and 40 who are passionate about supporting and connecting women in Tampa Bay, for the final Conversations & Cocktails event of 2013. The topic of discussion will be “Women in Key Decision Making Roles.”
Things are changing in the workforce. The latest job numbers show that men are at the lowest labor force participation rate since 1948. Women make up about half the workforce and the majority of college degrees – yet when it comes to leadership roles, merely 20 of the Fortune 500 companies have a female CEO at the helm; this record number was reached just last year.
Join Ekhos for a discussion on this topic with three of Tampa’s women in leadership positions. What are the cultural and economic impacts that occur when women assume key decision making roles in business? What are the very real consequences of a shift where women make important professional decisions? When does it become a smart business decision to place women at the helm? What will it take to ensure that things change?
