Palm Harbor, FL – This year, adult trick or treaters will be visited by a special guest at the 7th Annual Halloween-themed event called Witchstock 2013… where Woodstock & Halloween meet. Captain Cannabis will be present at 7 pm to educate attendees about the petition process for the Medical Marijuana legislation slated for the 2014 election and give interested registered voters the opportunity to sign the petition. Organizer, Lesley Klein, says “This year, we have the opportunity to add more of the flavor of Woodstock to the Witchstock brew. Those who were the original Hippies in the 60s are still around and would appreciate the chance to peacefully make a change by signing this petition.” Klein states that Captain Cannabis will be arriving after the childrens’ activities are over in the afternoon and when the event becomes more adult-oriented. “Next year, we are planning on adding a Medical Marijuana Fairy category to the Adult Costume Contest since next year’s Witchstock will occur just prior to the vote.”
Witchstock 2013 happens Saturday, October 26th, 2013 from 3 pm to Midnight at The Witch’s Brew, 1219 Florida Avenue, Palm Harbor, Florida. Witchstock 2013 will feature three costume contests which get bigger every year: a Pet Costume Contest at 3:30 pm; a Kids Costume Contest at 5 pm and an Adult Costume Contest with a Sexiest Costume Category at 9 pm. Winners will receive customized Witchstock trophies and prizes. The Adult Costume Contest winners will receive cash prizes of $100, $75 & $50 for 1st & 2nd Place and Sexiest Costume. There is no entry fee and participants are encouraged to arrive at least a half hour prior to contest to register. Applications may be downloaded from www.Witchstock.com.
Costumed partygoers will enjoy the musical aspect of Witchstock with performances by two musical acts: Higher Tides, an acoustic male duo, will play songs from the 60s to get you in the Woodstock frame of mind at 4:30 and 6:00 pm.
