Sarasota, Fl. October 21, 2013 – Volunteer Community Connections, Inc (VCC) will partner with The Home Depot Foundation to repair and paint two veteran’s homes on Make a Difference Day.
Sponsored by USA WEEKEND Magazine in partnership with HandsOn Network, Make A Difference Day is the nation’s largest day of doing good. For nearly two decades, Make A Difference Day has consistently called millions to action to feed, clothe and house their neighbors.
“The Home Depot Foundation’s dedication to improving homes and lives of veterans and their families was a perfect fit with Make A Difference Day,” explains Mindi Rohan, Executive Director of VCC. “We are grateful to work with Team Depot as part of Brush Up Sarasota, VCC’s Make A Difference Day project. “
Team Depot, The Home Depot Foundation’s associate-led volunteer force, will provide volunteers and supplies totaling $2,100 for these two homes. In all, five homes and a day care will be painted in the Newtown neighborhood on October 26 through Brush Up Sarasota.
There is still time to participate in this fun day of doing good, either by joining projects already being planned or by organizing an activity of your own and registering them at www.connectingvolunteers.org or by contacting Tom Giles at Volunteer Community Connections at email@example.com.
