|Tampa Bay, FL – October 20, 2013 – The Board of Directors of Family Resources is extremely pleased to have selected Lisa M. Davis, Ph.D., L.M.H.C. as the new President/CEO of the organization. The current President/CEO, Jane L. Harper, M.A., will be leaving the organization after 34 years, 26 years as the agency’s CEO.
According to Family Resources Board Chairman, Don Gilmore, “Dr. Davis has the compassion, energy and experience needed to enable her to lead Family Resources as we fulfill our mission of serving families, children and the Tampa Bay community. Jane Harper, who contributed so much to Family Resources and the community over her tenure as President/CEO, will be deeply missed. The board is confident that the selection of Lisa will ensure that the services that Jane and others have created will not only continue, but will thrive and grow.”
Dr. Davis has over 21 years’ experience in the social services, counseling and management fields She has worked at Family Resources 2 times, once as a Clinical Supervisor and for the past 3 and a half years as the Executive Director of Family Resources’ Manatee County programs.Dr. Davis is the Founder and Executive Director of Insight Counseling Services for the last 13 years. She has held direct service and clinical management positions in several different local agencies including Suncoast Center for Community Mental Health, Directions for Mental Health, Child Protection Center, Safe Children Coalition and Manatee Palms Youth Services.
Dr. Davis has a Doctorate Degree, Clinical Sexology, a Masters of Arts in Education, Community / Agency Counseling, a Masters of Arts degree in Child Development and Family Living, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Additionally, Dr. Davis is a Certified Sex Therapist and Certified Juvenile Sex Offender Therapist.
It is expected that Dr. Davis will assume her new role in January. In the meantime, current President/CEO, Jane L. Harper will continue working at Family Resources until Dr. Davis is in place in her new position.
