The Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Libraries will host the Homegrown in Hillsborough Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the John F. Germany Public Library, 900 N. Ashley Drive in Tampa. This event will feature local talent and offers a day of fun for the family including:
- Arts and Crafts (artists, artisans and architecture)
- Words and Music (writers, musicians and dance)
- Gastronomy (food, farmers and chefs)
The Homegrown in Hillsborough Festival, part of the Viva Florida 500 celebrations, includes more than 50 programs with presenters, lectures, panel discussions, demonstrations, and exhibit tables on all four floors of the library and the auditorium.
Viva Florida 500 is a statewide initiative led by the Florida Department of State to highlight the 500 years of historic people, places and events in Florida since the arrival of Juan Ponce de León in 1513.
