Second Florida City Scored High in Amenities
TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 16, 2013) – Ranked as one of the best places in America to live, work and play, Tampa came in 19th on Livability.com’s survey of the Top 100 Most Livable Cities in America. The second highest ranking of a Florida city, Tampa also tied the top score for amenities.
“We received the highest score for our amenities – our waterfront city, attractions, sports teams, festivals, culinary focus, outdoor activities – all of these things make Tampa a great place to live,” said Santiago Corrada, President & CEO of Visit Tampa Bay. “And we all know great places to live make great places to visit.”
The survey was based on eight categories for small-to-midsized cities with populations between 20,000 and 350,000. The categories included economics, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, education and healthcare. Tampa’s overall Livability Score totaled 620, scoring highest for amenities at 93, tied with Irvina, Ca.
The full list of the Top 100 Most Livable Cities in America can be found here. Other Florida cities on the list include Miami Beach (ranked 5th), Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, West Palm Beach and St. Petersburg.
