|What: Selby Gardens will hold a media preview event to allow members of the press to tour the new Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest on Tuesday, November 5 in advance of the feature’s grand opening.
“The Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest Garden will simulate one of the wildest places on earth—the tropical rainforest, home to half the world’s known plant and animal species,” said Tom Buchter, CEO of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. “Families will have the opportunity to hike up into the banyan tree canopy, see a waterfall, explore epiphyte caverns and learn about biodiversity in the rainforest.”
When: Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 10:00am–11:30am
Where: 900 S. Palm Ave. Sarasota, FL 34236
Who: Travel writers, journalists that cover the environment, education, family activities and kids programming and anyone who would like to gain a better understanding of this $5 million capital project are invited to attend this special preview event.
Why: This magnificent new rainforest garden provides an opportunity for families to connect with nature and each other in a fun safe environment that stimulates their minds and their imaginations. Visitors and guests will gain valuable information through interpretive, hands-on programming, along with a variety of activities for children and their families to play freely, explore and learn in a world filled with wonder and natural surprises. Grand opening ceremonies for the Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest Garden will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 1-3 pm.
