Punta Gorda, FL—Fishermen’s Village will herald in the Holiday Season with a spectacular” Lighting of the Village” on Saturday, November 16th as the beginning of the annual “FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS”, a celebration of themed decorations throughout the Village featuring OVER ONE MILLION LIGHTS! A new addition to this year’s decorations will be: Whoville!
Santa will arrive at Fishermen’s Village via The Punta Gorda Fire Department. Festivities begin at 5:30 pm. with an official ribbon cutting by Punta Gorda City Officials. The Lee County Pipes & Drums will then parade through the Village, ending in Center Court with a special Christmas Performance. Other festivities include Charlotte Chorale Dickens Carolers, balloon creations courtesy of Luis The Balloon Man, Airbrush Art for face and body, complimentary refreshments from Village Merchants, Meet and Greet with Santa’s Helpers from the Florida Dance Workshop, pictures with Santa (bring your camera!), and live music and dancing with the Boogiemen Band, 5-9 pm on the Village Center Stage.
Patrons are being asked to bring a canned good to be donated to the “Share The Blessings Ministry”, an all volunteer, nonprofit charity benefiting those in need in Charlotte County. Their mission is to provide hygiene, cleaning and non perishable food items which serve over 300 individuals and 100 families each month.
Festival of Lights can be viewed daily through December 31st during all regular and extended Fishermen’s Village hours of operation.
