The TECO Line Streetcar System’s Streetcar Fest is back and this time with 25¢ streetcar rides, live music from three local bands, “Streetcar Specials” along the line from participating local businesses, food trucks, and more! The festivities begin Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 10 a.m.
This is a family-friendly event, and almost free — just dig out your spare quarters!
Entertainment begins on Saturday at 12:30 with an animal presentation from The Florida Aquarium. Live music kicks off at 1:30 p.m. at Centro Ybor and at 2:00 p.m. at Dick Greco Plaza and will showcase three popular local bands – the Distinguished Men of Brass, Green Sunshine, and The Commoners.
Headlining the event, The Distinguished Men of Brass, a.k.a. “d’ Mo Brass” is a high-energy ensemble that blows audiences away with their style of Big Band, R&B, Pop, and Latin tunes. The band was recently featured on television’s America’s Got Talent.
The party doesn’t end, just because the music stops! Enjoy 25¢ rides and discounts all day from businesses along the streetcar line. Don’t forget to also stop by the streetcar barn for a short history tour of the streetcar. Tours begin at 11 a.m. and take place every hour until the last one at 4 p.m.
Hungry? Jimmy John’s will be passing out tasty free samples at Centro Ybor at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., while supplies last. Michelle Faedo’s On the Go and Wicked Witches will be cooking up gourmet delights for purchase at Dick Greco Plaza.
Streetcar Fest 2013 is presented by Centro Ybor, and sponsored by various local companies and organizations.
