|(Manatee County, FL) – Michael Bennett, Supervisor of Elections, Manatee County would like to thank Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority for scheduling early voting at their Town Hall location beginning with the Primary in 2014. “The voters in Lakewood Ranch have been asking for an early voting location in mid-county, this will serve as one of a few that will be in place for next year’s election,” said Bennett.
This news came after a recent meeting between Mr. Bennett and Eva Rey, Executive Director at Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority. The Supervisor of Elections office has been in search of the best location to serve Manatee County voters in the Lakewood Ranch area. “We appreciate they have graciously accepted our request. The 2012 legislative session brought changes to Florida election laws expanding early voting site options with these new opportunities and the new Ballot on Demand system. I am excited to expand early voting to multiple locations, which will increase convenience for the voters of Manatee County” stated Bennett. The Lakewood Ranch Town Hall will also be used as a polling place for the primary and on Election Day in 2014.
