|Southeast High School’s girl’s volleyball team will host the6th Annual “Volley For the Cure” match on October 3rdagainst Palmetto High School. The JuniorVarsity will begin at 6 PM and the Varsity at 7. In years past, SEHS playedManatee, but this year there has been another event added and MHS will competeagainst Braden River to raise more dollars towards finding a cure.
The Southeast ‘Noles Family has deep ties to supporting thiswonderful cause. This year’s event willbe in honor of breast cancer survivor Sharon Schaffer and father of Southeastalumni Katie DiGiralomo, Dave DiGiralomo. The proceeds for all the events will go towards the Susan G. Komenfoundation. The event will be televisedthrough the SETV program and will include some of the SE band members as wellas Hall of Fame Coach Paul Maectle.
This event will include a silent auction with lots of Merchandise &Gift Cards to place bids on and various apparel & gifts to purchase duringthe auction or with the raffle. The serving contest will allowparticipants to come and try their hand at serving to win local pizza donatedby many of our local pizza proprietors. There will be a contest for the bestpink outfit. In addition, pink t-shirtswill be sold to benefit the cause. Raffletickets and serve contest tickets will be $1 or $2. The activities will go onthroughout the evening, in between matches and during time outs.
Southeast TV will also be there broadcasting all of theaction. Don’t miss out on thisrivalry! Southeast Coach Nancy Cothronwill be facing off against her husband, who is the coach of the Palmetto team,will also be digging in for the fight to end cancer. Everyone is invited tocome. Please come support Breast Cancer awareness and pack the stands in yourbest pink outfit.
