The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has awarded a $5,000 grant from the Paul and Anne Finstad Fund to Girls Incorporated of Sarasota County, to provide scholarships for families needing financial assistance to send their girls to the Girls Inc. after-school programs. The funds come as part of the Girls Inc. $150,000 matching challenge. The $5,000 from the Community Foundation will turn into $10,000 by October 1st, when the match challenge will be met, meaning 10 families will receive financial assistance from this one grant.
