Tampa Bay, FL – August 25, 2013 – St. Petersburg native, Tina Koufas-Eisbacher will be the speaker at the Crossroads Gallery’s “Gallery Talk” this Wednesday, September 25. Koufas-Eisbacher’s one-woman photography show is currently on display at the Crossroads Gallery and runs through October 10. The show is called Truth and Consequences and is based on the old adage of being truthful or having to face the consequences.
Koufas-Eisbacher’s artwork has evolved over the years from idealistic to realistic and back to idealistic. Over the past five years she has immersed herself exclusively in traditional color photography, developing a darkroom technique that uses positive and negative transparencies as overlays to create ghostly images. There is no digital manipulation involved in any aspect of this unique process and Koufas-Eisbacher has found that it is also a great medium to incorporate her drawings into the photography. The exhibit will show how if “truth” is degraded , the consequences will become dire.
During the Gallery Talk, Koufas-Eisbacher will discuss the evolution of her photography as well as her plans for the next phases of her work. Koufas-Eisbacher’s career has always been art-related. She was a popular art teacher at Largo and Dixie Hollins high schools in Pinellas County where her focus was on all aspects of art from metalworking to analog & digital photography and jewelry design.
