|Cortez, Fla. (September 17, 2013) – The Florida Maritime Museum (FMM) has been closed for a month undergoing some revamping, but as September draws to a close, the FMM team is preparing to reopen.
The museum’s grand opening will include the premier of the completed children’s room, and scavenger hunt. Some of the museum’s content has been expanded to explore Florida’s greater maritime history, while other sections focus more closely on the personal stories Cortez has to share.
FMM invites you to come see the changes, and experience your heritage as it has been shaped by water. The Museum’s grand opening will take place on Saturday, October 5th at 4415 119th Street West, Cortez, FL 34215. Enjoy complimentary light refreshments and live music from 1pm – 4pm and kids’ activities all day. Admission to this event and to the museum is free, although donations are appreciated. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 9 am – 4 pm.
