SARASOTA, Fla. – The Women’s Resource Center of Sarasota County (WRCSC), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering women in Sarasota County and enriching their lives, recently welcomed Marilyn Goldfarb to Encore & more Consignment Shop, its nonprofit furniture and fashion boutique, as the store manager.
Originally from Lexington, Ky., Goldfarb brings over 25 years of retail experience to the position. She was previously the director of the 5th Avenue Club at Saks Fifth Avenue in Sarasota, Fla.
Goldfarb’s responsibilities will include managing the retail operation, including donations, consignments, pricing and displays, and promoting the mission and programs of the WRCSC within the shop and in the community.
Halya Sobkiw, the former store manager of two years, is returning to the WRCSC’s Sarasota office as an administrative assistant. Prior to her position at Encore & more Consignment Shop, Sobkiw spent four years working at the nonprofit’s Sarasota office.
Susan Merrill, employed for three years at Encore & more Consignment Shop, will remain the assistant manager.

For 34 years, the not-for-profit agency has provided women (and men) with life skills training, career planning and educational scholarships in Sarasota County. The mission of the organization is to create personal, social and professional growth opportunities to women by providing strategies that strengthen them, their families and their communities. The nonprofit has 350 volunteers and touches the lives of 12,800 annually.
