(SARASOTA, Fla, September 11, 2013) Manasota SCORE was selected to receive the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce’s Insignia Award in recognition of its excellent customer relations and long-term support of The Chamber.
Jeannette Watling-Mills, SCORE certified mentor, was presented with the award on September 9, 2013, during The Chamber’s First Monday networking event at LUBÉ Sarasota.
Watling-Mills, owner of Bob’s Window Cleaning, has been a Manasota SCORE volunteer for six years and has served as the organization’s representative on The Chamber’s Small Business Council for two years.
The Insignia Award is presented to a business or organization that has been a member of The Chamber for 5 or more years and has no unresolved complaints with the Better Business Bureau and no complaints over the past year with The Chamber.
The Manasota Chapter of SCORE (www.manasota.score.org), founded in 1965, has 40 volunteers assisting area small businesses with mentoring and education on a wide range of business topics. It is a nonprofit resource partner of the Small Business Administration, and it is part of the national SCORE organization that has 350 offices and over 10,500 volunteers.
SCORE is a national, nonprofit organization started in 1964. SCORE has over 12,000 members, retired business executives who donate their time providing education and mentoring services for people who are starting a new or growing an existing business.
Manasota SCORE has 40 volunteers providing education and mentoring services in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
