A public information session sponsored by the Sarasota County Bar Association
(September, 2013 – Sarasota, FL) Do you currently serve on a government board or advisory board? Do you represent others who do? Are you confused about social media, emails, text messages, social gatherings and the implications for Florida’s Government in the Sunshine and Public Records laws? Given today’s technology and the increasing explosion of electronic communications, you are not alone. Learn how to navigate these complex issues, comply with the law and avoid the heat.
On Friday, October 11th, attorney Pat Gleason, special counsel for open government for Attorney General Pam Bondi, will present a practical, “real world scenario” information session designed for those who serve on local government boards or advisory boards, those who represent them, and individuals who are interested in the intricacies of open meetings and public records laws. Bring your questions and get the answers you need.
The workshop will be held at Michael’s on East Ballroom, beginning at 8:30 am with a continental breakfast, followed by the program from 9 – 11 am. The cost is $20 per person. Advanced registration is required, and reservations can be made by clicking on the following link: https://www.sarasotabar.com
This session is made possible by the support of two area law firms – Icard Merrill and Williams Parker – in conjunction with the Sarasota County Bar Association.
