Professional Beach Volleyball Tour event will bring the best of the beach and a beach party atmosphere to Vinoy Park on weekend of September 13-15
ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. (Sept. 6, 2013) – Tickets for the AVP Professional Beach Volleyball Tour’s St. Pete Open are now on sale exclusively through the Tour’s ticketing partner, Eventbrite.
The professional beach volleyball tournament will bring the best of the beach – including Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh Jennings, Todd Rogers and Florida native Phil Dalhausser; Olympic silver medalists Jen Kessy and April Ross; Olympians Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal and many others – to Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg from September 13-15.

Fans attending the AVP St. Pete Open will be treated to three days of world-class beach volleyball competition featuring Olympic champions and world-renowned athletes competing in an unmatched beach-party atmosphere filled with food, music and interactive activities. The tournament will feature a field of 16 two-player men’s teams and 16 two-player women’s teams.
More than 1,000 metric tons of sand will be trucked in to build four courts overlooking the bay in Vinoy Park, and a stadium will be constructed to seat 1,500 fans for all the best matches of the weekend. With $150,000 in prize money up for grabs, the competition on the courts is expected to be fierce.
Local hopefuls can earn entry into the competition through an open qualifying tournament, which will be conducted Sept. 7 and 8.
The St. Pete Open will be the fifth of seven tournaments on the AVP’s 2013 schedule. The men’s and women’s finals will be broadcast Sept. 15 live on CBS Sports Network, and earlier matches will be shown on AVP.com via CBS Interactive.

All tickets allow fans access to the outer courts and vendor village – no one will be admitted to these areas without a ticket. General admission tickets are free for kids 6 and under, and each adult ticket purchased allows the purchaser one free ticket for a child 7-12 years old. Admission to the Sept. 7-8 open qualifying tournament is free.
General admission one-session ticket $15
This ticket is good for one session: Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Allows the holder access to festival seating with a view of the center court, as well as access to outer courts, vendor village and all other areas within tournament grounds. Does not include a seat inside the center court stadium.
General admission all-sessions pass $30
This ticket is good for all sessions throughout the tournament. Allows the holder access to festival seating with a view of the center court, as well as access to outer courts, vendor village and all other areas within tournament grounds. Does not include a seat inside the center court stadium.
