The Bridge Street Merchants are hosting an evening of Island Luau FUN!!!
The Bridge Street Luau will take place on Historic Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island Saturday, September 7, 5pm-10pm.
The event will feature Hawaiian barbeque and a full bar with beer, wine, and liquor. Entrance is free to the public and promises a different experience than the usual Bridge Street Markets held at the same location, 117 Bridge Street. Melissa Enders, event coordinator explains, “With fewer art and craft vendors, there will be plenty of space for folks to bring their own blankets and chairs and sit back and enjoy the band with a cold beer and tasty Hawaiian BBQ provided by Island Time Bar and Grill and Bridge Street Bistro”.
For those who can’t sit still, dancing, hula hooping, life size Jenga and shopping are welcome at this family-friendly event. There will be a costume contest for the best dressed Hawaiian look. See how LOW you can go with Luau Limbo game. Local island band, Tangled Mangos, who have regular gigs on Anna Maria, Sarasota and Tampa/St. Pete will be playing from 7-10pm. Frank Catalina, a solo artist from St. Pete, will start the event off from 5-7 playing Steel Drums. Both offer an energetic blend of island music sure to heat up one of the last summer nights this season. The event will take place in the same lot used for the popular Bridge Street Sunday Markets held November-April and the Summer Saturday evening markets on historic Bridge Street, adjacent to the Fish Hole Adventure Golf.
Parking is available at the three piers area just south of Bridge Street with additional parking available at the City Pier or in the city lot behind Bridge Street Bistro but organizers suggest event attendees take advantage of the free island trolley which runs until 10:30pm. With over 80 spots throughout Anna Maria and a stop right at Bridge Street, it is the best way to travel and to not have to worry about parking.
The Bridge Street Market and this event are sponsored by the Bridge Street Merchants; a non for profit 501 c6 comprised of business owners whose mission it is to promote Historic Bridge Street, the Bradenton Beach Community, and all its businesses.
