Pasco-Hernando Community College Foundation received a $2,200 gift from the North Suncoast Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). The gift is an addition to their endowed scholarship fund established in 2002, currently totaling more than $48,000.
FICPA is comprised of certified public accountants with 27 chapters across Florida including the North Suncoast chapter which was chartered in the 1980’s with Frank Parker and G. Michael Stone, of Stone, Parker & Company, CPA, PA, as its first two chairmen. With more than 18,500 members statewide, the association represents commitment to the CPA profession, including adherence to the Code of Professional Conduct and to a stringent set of professional and technical standards. In addition to ensuring that standards are met, FICPA provides information and resources that enable CPAs to enhance the quality of their services. FICPA has been working to advance the accounting profession for more than 100 years.
PHCC offers Associate in Arts and Associate in Science in business administration degrees that will transfer to a state university for a degree in accounting, leading to the CPA designation.
