Sarasota, Florida – The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) named Neal Communities “Builder of the Year” at its Green Trends Conference at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota recently. Awards were given out in eight categories including best commercial builder, best local government (city and county), best home, best builder (single-family and multi-family), best certifying agent, and best volunteer of the year. Neal was lauded the Best Builder of single-family homes, and was the top winner out of 10 nominees.
“This is an award we are very proud of,” said Pat Neal, president and CEO of the Lakewood Ranch-based, new home building company. “We were green before it was popular and now with several green certified communities like Central Park at Lakewood Ranch and Grand Palm in Venice, we are committed to staying current on sustainable building practices. We thank the FGBC for recognizing our achievements in this area,” said Neal.
Neal Communities’ Purchasing Director, Cathy Engels, accepted the award on behalf of the builder.
