Last Three Events Awarded includes this Sunday’s ‘Light Up the Night’
Tampa, FL – (August 28, 2013) – The Downtown Tampa Special Service District (SSD) Event Grant funds have been completely allocated for 2013, as three final downtown events were awarded the remainder of the annual grant fund balance as of August 12, 2013.

The Downtown SSD Event Grant Program has a $25,000 per year budget, and awards reimbursement grants up to 20% of the total event expenditures, with a cap of $2,500. In 2013, 15 events in total were awarded grants to assist them with their operations or marketing of their event. The program has been in existence since March 2010, and has awarded tens of thousands of dollars in grants to downtown events since its inception to help activate the many places and spaces in Downtown Tampa.
Tampa Downtown Partnership administers the Downtown SSD Event Grant Program, as well as the Downtown SSD Storefront and Sidewalk Cafe Grant Program that was introduced this year. The Downtown Tampa SSD Committee appoints subcommittees to serve as review committees for these programs.
