Date Set For Saturday, September 21st!
Largo, FL (August 28, 2013) The Armed Forces History Museum will extend its Ride Through History event due to popular demand. The date is set for Saturday, September 21st from 10am to 4pm.
Ride Through History took place throughout the summer on July 13 and 27 as well as August 10 and 24. The events have been enormous successes. Ride Through History offers deeply discounted admission at $10 for adults and $5 for youths 4-12. It also offers free hot dogs, indoor and outdoor re-enactments with WWII re-enactors from the 1st Infantry Division, as well as military vehicle rides. Military vehicle rides are not included in the admission price. Rides include the museum’s WWII M8 Reconnaissance Vehicle, a Vietnam-era Gama Goat, which is an amphibious vehicle used to transport troops and cargo, as well the Virtual Voyager Simulator, a ride similar to those found at popular theme parks. The Virtual Voyager Simulator allows guests to choose their ride through Desert Storm, Iwo Jima, Barnstormers, a Grand Prix raceway, a virtual time machine, Wild Africa, a volcano, a haunted castle, a glacier run or an aqua ride. The cost is $50 for up to 3 people on the M8, $5 per person for the Gama Goat and $5 per person for the Virtual Voyager Simulator.
