Pasco/Pinellas/Hillsborough County, Florida – (August 21, 2013) Medical Center of Trinity has announced that the next meeting of “Helping HANDs” (offering Hope for Autism and Neurological Disorders) will be held on September 11th at 7 pm and will feature a presentation from a nationally recognized DAN! (Defeat Autism Now) physician, Dr. David Berger from Wholistic Pediatrics and Family Care in Tampa.
Dr. David is a Board Certified Pediatrician who specializes in holistic pediatric primary care, nutritional and detoxification therapies for autism, ADHD and related disorders and immune dysregulation. He graduated from The Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1994 and did his Pediatric Residency at the University of South Florida. He started using holistic therapies at the Tampa General Hospital/USF Pediatric Clinic during his residency. He has served as the team doctor for Tampa Catholic High School, the Medical Director for a summer camp run by the Tampa AIDS Network, and the Medical Liaison for the Palm Beach County Breast Feeding Task Force. He has been in private practice since 1997, and in 2005 he opened Holistic Pediatrics in Tampa, Florida. Dr. David has been an advanced Defeat Autism Now! (DAN!) Doctor since 1999.

Helping HANDS Is a community support group for parents, family members, and friends impacted by autism and related neurological disorders such as Tourette’s, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, Aspergers, or other Autism Spectrum disorders.
“Helping HANDs” meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. The group meets at Medical Center of Trinity, 9330 State Road 54, Trinity, Florida 34655 in the main building, off the lobby in Conference Room B.

Relatives and family members impacted by Autism and Related Neurological Disorders have an opportunity to meet with parents with similar issues at the regular monthly meetings. The primary goal is to connect special needs families by bringing the community together to support, each other, gain more knowledge, raise awareness, and pool resources to effectively help the children.
