TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2013) — Author Chris Kuhn will celebrate her novel, The Muse Unlocked on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at BoConcept Tampa.
As Kuhn writes, “All women want to feel desired and see themselves through someone else’s eyes as desirable.” The author explores this yearning in The Muse Unlocked, a moving story of a successful woman, originally from Lakeland, Florida, who embarks on a journey to discover self-love and the confidence to be loved.
“If I did my job right,” says Kuhn, “I believe that there is some facet of Cate with which women of all ages and backgrounds will be able to identify.”
“You are so much more than I could have ever wished for.” -Cate Mullen, The Muse Unlocked
The book tells the story of a successful TV and film screenwriter, Cate Mullen, who is not an ordinary contemporary romance heroine. Although thriving in her professional life, she struggles to make sense of her world away from her life in words. That is, until she meets Oliver, an actor 10 years younger than her who is playing the lead role in the movie she has co-written.
“…You are my favorite thing to do.” -Oliver Sand, The Muse Unlocked
“I feel Oliver represents that ideal man that every woman wants and every man wants to be, but as we peel back the layers, we begin to realize that there’s more to his story than the beautiful canvas on display,” says Kuhn.
Known for her editorial contributions to numerous publications in the Tampa Bay region and beyond, Kuhn will welcome launch party guests on Aug. 22 for an opportunity to experience the settings, emotions, tastes and sounds behind the novel and to hear firsthand what inspired this unique contemporary romance.

About Chris Kuhn
Chris Kuhn lives in the suburbs of Tampa Bay, Fla. and is happily married to her best friend. When she is not writing or drooling over book boyfriends, she loves listening to music, going to movies, discovering new Thai restaurants and golfing (badly). If she could write her next book from a golf course while indulging in a Kevin Spacey marathon over tofu panang curry, she would.
