The now 60-member co-chair roster includes more local and national business/civic leaders
ST PETERSBURG (August 20, 2013) — Originally launched by 15 “co-chairs,” the BuildThePier campaign has now grown its co-chair roster to 60 members. Campaign co-chairs, along with a broad spectrum of volunteers and donors, are working together to advocate for building the new St. Pete Pier (The Lens).
The diverse group of 60 encompasses areas of: national and local politics, national and local business, community/civic leadership, education, finance, law, art, architecture, construction, real estate, public relations, advertising, hospitality and more, including many business owners. Co-chairs and other supporters are all providing services pro bono. Funds raised are being spent only on informational materials, advertising, and get-out-the-vote efforts; all aimed at helping ensure voters have accurate information about the new St. Pete Pier. The BuildThePier campaign is calling on residents to “Vote NO” on cancelling a contract to construct the new St Pete Pier (known as The Lens). The PAC’s primary purpose of existence is to share accurate information and clarify misunderstandings about the new St Pete Pier.
