Cozy, elegant continental menu and atmosphere
[ Aug. 5, 2012 — Sarasota, Fla. ] Internationally renowned restaurateur Christian Zebier is proud to announce Antoine’s Restaurant is open for business at 5020 Fruitville Road. The new dining destination features an elegant continental menu by Chef Karl Deneubourg in a cozy and sophisticated environment and is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday starting at 4 p.m.
“I wanted to bring my team back together and offer something more cozy and casual for the community,” said Zebier, former owner of Brasserie Belge, which he closed last year to spend more time with family. He couldn’t stay away for long, feeling refreshed and excited by the opportunity Antoine’s smaller dining space and larger kitchen provided for him to focus on “the right things: the food and the people.”
To that end, Chef Deneubourg crafted a concise menu focusing on flawlessly executed modern European cuisine. Handmade pastas are heavily featured as well as sophisticated seafood specials. A few highlights include the ahi tuna steak, which is crusted in black sesame and served rare on a bed of mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with diced tomatoes in a white chardonnay sauce as well as the steak tartare, which is prepared to order from raw 100% Certified Angus Beef seasoned with capers and egg yolk and served with fries. The phyllo-encased goat cheese drizzled with honey and served over arugula with cherry tomatoes, apple, cucumber, shallots and walnuts in an apple vinaigrette makes an excellent starter and all guests are suggested to try the PEI mussels, flown in daily and offered with one of four savory preparations including the traditional marinière, garlic and cream, chardonnay-steamed or tomato and basil Provençal.
Wines and beers are also available from all over the world and the highlight of the stellar dessert menu is the profiteroles, soft, airy pastries with just a suggestion of sweetness filled with a crème patissière and drizzled in warm Callebaut Belgian chocolate.
Specials are posted daily on the restaurant’s Facebook page. The staff is led by Olivier Georges, who Zebier calls “simply the best.” Situated just off I-75 on Fruitville Road, Antoine’s offers outdoor dining, great parking and easy access to major routes in Sarasota. Summer hours are in effect currently and diners are invited to enjoy 20% off their entire check, nothing excluded, until 5:30 p.m. nightly.
