|The American Cancer Society announces the 2nd Annual Bark For Life of Manatee County; an event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer. Bark For Life honors and celebrates our canine caregivers, who offer love and support to us when we face illnesses, such as cancer. By participating in Bark For Life, you will raise funds for the American Cancer Society to increase our life-saving research efforts, and provide local patient services to those facing cancer in our community.
Join us on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Tom Bennett Park, located at 400 Cypress Blvd., Bradenton. Registration begins at 1 p.m. The non-competitive dog walk begins at 2 p.m. Before and after the walk, enjoy concession stands, vendors, and demonstrations from local groups. We also invite you and your dog to and participate in talent and dress up contests, and compete for prizes.
People participate in Bark For Life for various reasons: to honor the unconditional love and care giving qualities of canines, to celebrate cancer survivorship, to honor people lost to cancer, and to fundraise in support of the American Cancer Society mission of eliminating cancer though research, education, advocacy and service. Bark For Life is an incredible way to fight back against cancer.
Registration is $20 for one dog, and $25 for two dogs. Dogs will receive a purple bandana for their participation, and their owners will receive a Bark For Life t-shirt. Sponsorships are also available. Register on-line at www.S2TIMING.com or call Sharon at 941-799-2058. All proceeds benefit American Cancer Society.
