Island Travel & Tours, Ltd. announced today the addition of a third weekly flight to Havana, Cuba, from both Tampa and Miami plus enhanced First Class service on all of its flights and convenient new ground connections to Santa Clara and Cienfuegos for its Tampa area travelers to Cuba.
The new flights from Tampa International Airport and Miami International Airport will operate on Fridays beginning November 1, 2013, with the Tampa flight being a late afternoon departure.
This new Friday flight will originate in Miami as Island Travel & Tours, Ltd. concurrently adds a third weekly flight to its Miami service, providing three morning flights from Miami to Havana and three afternoon departures from Tampa to Havana, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Boeing 737-400 aircraft operated by Sky King Inc. will be used for all flights.
The service to Santa Clara and Cienfuegos will include a ground transfer departing directly from Havana’s Jose Marti International Airport. This convenient new service will begin next Sunday, July 28, and will be free of charge to all passengers who travel from Tampa to Havana with Island Travel & Tours. The service begins at the height of the travel season for Cuban-Americans who are visiting family members and relatives in Cuba. Reservations are expected to fill up quickly and are available now based on availability.
Island Travel will also be enhancing its onboard service by providing complimentary meals to First Class passengers.
“All of our Tampa flights are sold out through the end of the summer,” said Bill Hauf, President of Island Travel & Tours, Ltd., “and our passengers traveling to both Santa Clara and Cienfuegos to visit relatives are thrilled about the prospects of this new convenient transfer.
“We are also excited about providing this new service because our company is constantly seeking new ways to provide our clients the ultimate in customer service. Offering new amenities that will make our clients’ visit to Cuba more convenient and more enjoyable is a prime company objective.
“The new Friday flights will provide more options for Cuban-American travelers as well as group travel by Tampa Bay’s colleges, universities, religious groups, business organizations, cultural institutions, agricultural companies and many other organizations that can legally travel to Cuba.
“With three flights a week and free transfers to Santa Clara and Cienfuegos, both individuals and organizations can now plan more frequent trips to the island to visit the Cuban people, discover the Cuban culture and develop deep and long lasting friendships that will bring our countries closer.”
