Symbiont Service Corp. of Englewood, Fla. will present an energy efficiency award to The Lake Club at Lakewood Ranch at The Lake Club Clubhouse, located east of Lorraine Rd. on University Parkway, Tuesday, July 23rd at 2:00 p.m. The upscale community recently installed a Symbiont geothermal pool heating system to service the two swimming pools located at The Lake Club Clubhouse.
The energy efficient system was installed to heat the adult and children’s pools because the geothermal system is 70% more efficient, durable and reliable than conventional pool heating and cooling methods. With a 20 year life-cycle, the system is designed to maintain the pool water temperature between 84 and 87 degrees with indifference to weather conditions throughout the year. It performs flawlessly using minimal energy, thus reducing the Lakewood Ranch carbon footprint and providing significant savings over the lifetime of the equipment.
“We are pleased to continue our efforts to step up our game yet another notch to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels,” Vice President of Sales for Lakewood Ranch, Jimmy Stewart said. “The geothermal system is another way Lakewood Ranch carries on our Green Building Initiative to make living here comfortable, eco-friendly and economical.”
The decision is in keeping with the overall philosophy of Lakewood Ranch. Green building is smart building and it means energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, sustainability, healthy indoor air and economic viability. Green building means meeting the requirements and standards of one of the most highly recognized third party certification programs and has been recognized several times by different state and national organizations since the development began.
“We chose Symbiont Service because they have an excellent staff, a superior product, a good reputation and have been in business for more than 20 years,” Said Tony Llambes, Director of Property Management for Lakewood Ranch. “They were a pleasure to work with.”
Symbiont Service founder, Roy King, developed and manufactured the geothermal temperature control system in the early 80s and sold the manufacturing division in 1990 because of its prolific growth the previous decade. Today, Symbiont Service, who installed and maintains The Lake Club units, began in 1991 and is both an air-conditioning contracting and pool and spa heating company boasting more than 1,200 commercial pool heating customers throughout the State of Florida.
“It is truly an honor to add The Lake Club and Lakewood Ranch to our list of clients who participate with us,” said Sandy King, President of Symbiont Service. “We are looking forward to a long-lasting, symbiotic relationship.”
