Applications for first class are being accepted through the end of July
Tampa, Fla. (July 16, 2013) – The City of Tampa is currently accepting applications for the inaugural class of Mayor Bob Buckhorn’s Neighborhood University.
Applications for the first class, which will begin in early Fall 2013, are due in by July 26, 2013.
“I believe strong neighborhoods provide the foundation for a great city. My commitment to our neighborhoods extends to growing the next generation of neighborhood leaders so that they can continue the progress we have made,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “It is our hope that through the Neighborhood University, we will be able to help both current and future neighborhood presidents on whom we rely on to be the eyes, ears and voice back to us.”
During the 12-week course, participants will learn skills to help establish and maintain successful neighborhood organizations as well as experience the City Administration on a whole new level.
This inaugural class is limited in space and is open to anyone the community. The application is due on Friday July 26, 2013 by 5:00 p.m.
