(SARASOTA, Fla, July 11, 2013) Catherine Wilkes and Sunshine “Shine” Knutson of Golden Daisy Café were chosen as Manasota SCORE’s July 2013 Clients of the Month.
Based on a family tradition that appreciates good food and 10 years’ experience in Oregon restaurants, this mother-and-daughter team believed they could create a successful coffee shop or café in The Meadows.
With the assistance of SCORE mentor Norm Silverstein, they were able to calculate the value of the business they wanted to open and to negotiate a fair price for their current location in The Meadows Shopping Village.
The owners of Golden Daisy Café (www.goldendaisycafe.com) are committed to serving fresh, wholesome, homemade food. They offer breakfast and lunch made-to-order Tuesday through Sunday and private parties by reservation after hours.
The experienced professionals and retired executives who serve as Manasota SCORE volunteers share their extensive real-world experience and practical ideas by offering free mentoring to anyone wishing to start or grow a business.
