Marsha Pfeffer of Corporate Benefits Network one of only four professionals in Tampa Bay area to hold certification
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (July 5, 2013) — Marsha Pfeffer, owner and senior employee benefits advisor of St. Petersburg-based Corporate Benefits Network, earned the Certified Healthcare Reform Specialist® (CHRS) designation. She is one of only four professionals in the Tampa Bay area and 39 in the state to hold this national certification.
Administered by the Health Care Reform Center and Policy Institute and Healthcare Reform Magazine, the CHRS designation provides human resource and insurance professionals an educational and competitive edge in staying on top of the rules, regulations and interpretation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), also known as “healthcare reform.”
To earn the CHRS designation, Pfeffer completed 17 modules of online educational curriculum and passed a 100 multiple-choice question exam that included discerning the timeline for implementing different polices, laws and regulations in healthcare reform, and understanding mandated benefits and compliance deadlines.
“Education is a keystone of our business,” said Pfeffer. “Earning the CHRS certification sharpened our skill sets even further, and shows our commitment to helping our clients best navigate the complexities of healthcare reform.”
Pfeffer, who has spent more than 30 years in the employee benefits and insurance industry, also holds designations as a Certified Self Funding Specialist, Advanced Chartered Business Consultant, and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow.
