Tampa, FL – July 2, 2013 The Pelican Players, an organization in Greater Sun City Center, has entered into an agreement with the Community Foundation of Greater Sun City Center, a division of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay to establish the Pelican Players Scholarship Fund with an initial gift of $15,000.
The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to students who are majoring in the performing arts and attending schools of higher education throughout the Tampa Bay area. The criteria setting forth the selection of students have been carefully detailed within the purpose of the Fund. Any individual, corporation, trust, estate, or organization may make a gift to the Community Foundation as an addition to the Pelican Players Scholarship Fund.
The Pelican Players has a long history of providing scholarships to students pursuing a higher education in the arts. To date, The Pelican Players has provided almost $500,000 in scholarship monies. “With the establishment of this life-long endowment, the Pelican Players ensures that its legacy of giving will continue on and on,” states Linda Halperin, President of the Pelican Players. “We hope that others will join us in our efforts to support students in the arts.”
