|The ABA Academy, Inc. is a new non-profit private school for school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and related disabilities. We will be opening this fall and follow the Manatee County school calendar.
The ABA Academy, Inc. will accommodate 25 children with Autism and/or related disorders and utilize the evidence-based practice of Applied Behavior Analysis. Teachers and staff hold a professional teaching certificate and/or certification in behavior analysis and have extensive experience working with children with Autism. The ABA Academy, Inc. will be much more than a school, as our focus will go beyond academics. Our program will also address communication and language, social skills, independent life skills and other areas of social significance for our students. Our program will be small and individualized to best help students who may have sensory, behavioral, and/or developmental delays that interfere with learning in a large school environment. Each child will have an individual VB-MAPP assessment completed by a BCBA who will also work with the children in their classrooms daily on attainable and measurable goals. Parents and community partners such as SLP’s and OT’s will be welcomed and encouraged to work with us a team with the common goal of enriching the lives of our students and giving them tools to succeed outside of the classroom.
